Purpose: These fellowships support dissertation research in American Indian Studies by advanced graduate students at CIC institutions. The fellowships offer between one and three months of funding (with stipends of $1,500 per month) to cover research and travel expenses to libraries and archives. All fellowship recipients must spend a portion of their time at the Newberry.
