Purpose: On behalf of the Australian Department of Health and Ageing, The Commonwealth Fund is pleased to announce the Packer Policy Fellowships, an Australian-American Health Policy Fellowships Program. This program offers a unique opportunity for outstanding, mid-career U.S. health policy researchers and practitioners to spend up to ten months in Australia conducting original research and working with leading Australian health policy experts on issues relevant to both countries.

**** FINANCIAL DATA INFORMATION
Average Amount per Award: Up to $55,000 (AUD)
Award Includes: travel expenses, living expenses, dependent expenses, research expenses, stipend
**** APPLICATION INFORMATION
Deadline: August 15
Notification Date: November
Procedure: Approval of all fellowship awards is contingent upon: meeting normal Australian immigration and visa requirements; possession of a valid U.S. passport and Australian academic visa; a satisfactory medical examination; and agreement with the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing on the starting date, length of tenure, mentor and placement, and the fellowship project to be undertaken.

Level of Study: graduate, doctorate, postdoctoral, professional
Nationality/Residency: US Citizens
Other Criteria: Applicants must be a mid-career health services researcher or practitioner (e.g., a physician, decision maker in a managed care organization or other private health care organization, government official or policy analyst, or journalist).
