Purpose: Ian Axford Fellowships in Public Policy give outstanding mid-career American professionals opportunities to study, travel, and gain practical experience in public policy in New Zealand, including firsthand knowledge of economic, social, and political reforms and management of the government sector. Fellowships are offered in any area of public policy. The program is named after a New Zealander, Sir Ian Axford, who is an eminent astrophysicist and space scientist. Sir Ian is the Patron of the program. Two to three fellowships per year are awarded for six months of study in New Zealand.
