Purpose: The DV Gokhale International Grants/Loans in Statistics Program provides grants and/or loans to: (a) Indian undergraduate and graduate students to study statistics in the United States; (b) American undergraduate and graduate students to study statistics and related subjects in India; (c) support faculty exchanges in this field between the United States and India. Dr. DV Gokhale, Professor Emeritus of Statistics at the University of California at Riverside, established this program in appreciation of his experiences as a Fulbrighter in the United States in the 1960s.

Average Amount per Award: Each candidate will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine whether to award as a full grant, full loan, or a combination of the two. Re-payment of loans will be a legal obligation of the borrower pursuant to a contract between the recipient
