**** AWARD Award Type: Scholarship Annual # of awards: Up to 80 Date Effective: Start of the academic semester Purpose: AIFS awards up to 80 scholarships, worth $1,000 or $2,000 each, for semester study with AIFS. The purpose of the AIFS International Scholarship is to promote international understanding through study abroad. The awards celebrate the founding of the American Institute For Foreign Study 40 years ago and must be used on applicable AIFS programs.

**** LOCATION Country: Europe Fields of Study: All Fields of Study **** FINANCIAL DATA INFORMATION Average Amount per Award: $1,000 or $2,000 Award Includes: tuition **** APPLICATION INFORMATION Deadline: April 15 for fall or October 1 for spring Procedure: In addition to the scholarship application and and application for an AIFS program, aplicants should also submit a 1,000 word typed essay on the subject "Why study abroad will change my life." **** ELIGIBILITY Level of Study: undergraduate Other Criteria: Students must meet the minimum requirements for the program to which they are applying, have at least a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, show leadership potential and be involved in extracurricular activities centered on multicultural or international iss | ||
