**** AWARD Award Type: Scholarship Duration: The maximum scholarship period is three academic years but the scholarships are usually granted for one academic year (nine months) at a time. They can also be awarded for study periods of shorter duration. The scholarships are intended to finance a Purpose: The Swedish Institute, a public agency for cultural and educational exchange with individuals and institutions abroad, offers scholarships to foreign students/researchers who wish to come to Sweden as guest students and who do not intend to settle permanently in Sweden.

**** LOCATION Institution: Any Swedish institution Country: Sweden Fields of Study: All Fields of Study Emphasis On: There are no scholarships available for learning basic Swedish. **** FINANCIAL DATA INFORMATION Average Amount per Award: SEK 8,000 per month for graduate and research students and SEK 12,000 for holders of a Ph.D. degree.
